PILLAR 3

Strategic Empowerment

This pillar targets families and young people who are transitioning out of institutional care into independent or family-based living. The main objective is to equip these individuals with essential life skills, educational support, emotional resilience, and economic self-sufficiency, ensuring that they successfully integrate into society without ongoing institutional dependence. These tailored support and structured interventions, aims to enable care leavers and reintegrating children to lead stable, fulfilling, and autonomous lives.

Key Interventions

Regular home and school visits.

OCV conducts structured visits to assess the living conditions, educational progress, and overall well being of reintegrated children and care leavers. These visits allow for continuous monitoring, timely identification of emerging challenges, and swift adjustments to interventions, ensuring sustained progress in line with individual care plans.

Direct Financial Support.

Direct financial support is provided strategically to care leavers and reintegrated families based on assessed needs. This support includes educational assistance, economic empowerment initiatives, and targeted subsidies to address immediate and essential household needs. The aim is to facilitate smoother transitions by temporarily alleviating financial pressures and enabling young people and families to establish a stable foundation for self-reliance.

Life Skills Training Sessions.

Life skills training sessions represent an essential component, providing young people with the practical skills required for independent living. Training covers critical areas including financial literacy, vocational and employability skills, effective communication, decision-making, and emotional self-management. These trainings are designed to enhance the capacity of care leavers to manage life’s daily demands and increase their resilience in facing personal, social, and economic challenges.

Regular Engagement Sessions.

Regular engagement sessions are conducted with care leavers and reintegrating families. These sessions focus on discussing exit plans clearly, preparing beneficiaries psychologically and practically for reduced dependency on external support. Through mentorship programs and peer support groups, beneficiaries build networks and mutual accountability, fostering social inclusion and community integration.
