David Leahy

David is the Chairman of the Board of Trustees and has held this position since inception in 2009. David is a partner in KPMG East Africa responsible for leading Internal Audit, Risk and Compliance services and Financial Risk Management services in the East Africa region. He has over twenty years of experience in the governance, risk, internal audit and compliance. David holds a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration and is a Chartered Accountant. David is also a member of the board of Fairtrade Africa and TradeMark East Africa. David currently heads the Finance committee at OCV.

James is the Founder and Chairman of Kickstart Kids International in Australia and the UK, one of the co-founders of Familia Moja Children’s Centre and Olturoto Children’s Village. James has worked full time for the past eight years at KPMG and is currently the firm’s East Africa Market Lead for the infrastructure sector, based in Kenya. James is a Chartered Accountant and holds a Bachelor’s degree in Business. James has been awarded an Australian Leadership Award for his work with Kickstart Kids International. James currently heads the Fundraising committee at OCV.

Solomon Choge

Solomon has been intimately involved with our work since 2008 when he initially advised on the establishment Olturoto Children’s Village. Following this, Solomon joined the board of trustees as secretary and has subsequently managed the processes of purchasing land and commencing development at Olturoto Children’s Village. Solomon holds two Masters Degrees of Law and Specializes in Transfer Pricing and International Tax Law. Solomon is passionate about farming and currently heads the Farm committee at OCV.

Anupa Sanghrajka

Anupa is a member of the board of trustees and is on the senior management team of Tile & Carpet Centre (TACC) in Kenya. Anupa previously worked at KPMG in the UK, is a Chartered Account and graduated from London School of Economics. Anupa has been a great supporter of our work in Kenya since 2011. Anupa currently heads the Children’s committee at OCV.

Joanna Wakia

Position: Monitoring & Evaluation

Joanna Wakia been involved in child-focused monitoring, evaluation and research in Africa for the last decade. For much of this time she worked with Retrak – an international NGO with the vision of no child forced to live on the streets. She has developed monitoring systems, pioneered monitor tools to bring children’s experiences to light, led the documentation of standard operating procedures and is the author of several research papers on improvements in children’s wellbeing during family reintegration and on the use of robust methods for estimating populations of children on the streets. Joanna is a key part of the children’s committee and brings her years of expertise in children’s work to the team.

Pina Ercolano

Position: Legal Advisor

Pina Ercolano-Woodward is an Advocate of the High Court of Kenya and a seasoned human rights lawyer with over a decade of experience in legal research, law and policy formulation, and strategic litigation. She has worked extensively with international organizations, governments, and civil society on issues of women’s and children’s rights, access to justice, and protection from gender-based violence. Pina brings her expertise in child protection and legal reform to Kickstart Kids International, where she serves as Legal Advisor on the Advisory Board, supporting the organization’s mission to strengthen family-based care and safeguard the rights of vulnerable children.

Janice Njoroge

Position: Fundraising & Comms

Janice Njoroge is a seasoned Communications Professional with over 12 years’ experience in the field of development communications. Janice has a keen interest in non-profit brand building, developing and managing the execution of development communication strategies and public relations activities, as well as fundraising. Janice is a member of the Fundraising committee providing subject matter expertise in fundraising and communication.
