Strengthening Partnerships for Child Protection.

“parents encouraged to actively monitor their children to detect early signs of drug use”

We recently hosted a successful sensitization session in collaboration with NACADA (National Authority for the Campaign Against Alcohol and Drug Abuse). The session brought together 29 participants, including NACADA officials, the area chief and assistant chief, village elders, Nyumba Kumi representatives, and members of the Community Child Protection Committee.

The discussions focused on the dangers of drug and substance use, reinforced with video aids and plenary conversations for deeper learning. Positive parenting was also emphasized, urging parents to actively monitor their children to detect early signs of drug use.

Participants engaged actively, with requests for follow-up sessions with NACADA and greater involvement in ensuring alcohol sold locally is safe and KEBS certified. This engagement underscores the power of partnerships in protecting children and families and marks another milestone in realizing our fourth strategic pillar.
